Wheelchair Accessible & Mobility Van Conversions

Wheelchair lifts, ramps, track flooring, accessible seating and stretcher systems, installed in house in Broomfield, Colorado.

We convert vans and other vehicles for transit programs, senior living communities, medical transport, coroner's offices and families who need a vehicle that works for everyone riding in it. Every mobility conversion is quoted to the vehicle, because a high roof Transit and a Sprinter don't take the same lift or the same floor.

Wheelchair accessible van conversion with a rear wheelchair lift, track flooring and removable passenger seats

What goes into a mobility conversion

Most accessible conversions come down to a few questions: how a rider gets in, where they ride, what the floor lets you change, and how everyone is secured. Here's how we handle each one.

Wheelchair Lift Installation

We install Braun Century wheelchair lifts, most often at the rear doors, so a rider can board without a transfer. We'll confirm the lift fits your door opening and floor height before anything gets ordered.

Wheelchair and Gurney Ramps

A ramp is simpler than a lift and there's less to maintain. We install Link Ramp gurney ramps, including ones we've cut down to fit a narrow opening, and we'll install a ramp you already own, swivel ramps included.

Track Flooring & Modular Seating

AMF Bruns track flooring and Smartfloor put rails in the floor, so seats slide, come out, or make room for a wheelchair station without drilling the floor again. One vehicle can carry a full row of passengers in the morning and two wheelchairs in the afternoon.

Wheelchair & Ambulatory Seating

We work with JMG, AMF Bruns and Freedman seating: fold-up and flip seats, quick-release seats that lock into track, and full ambulatory passenger rows alongside wheelchair positions and restraints. Tell us how many riders and how many wheelchairs you need, and we'll lay it out.

Stretcher & Cot Mounting Systems

We install Stryker cot fastener systems (the floor plate, rail and trolley) on a reinforced subfloor, and wire the cot to 12V so it charges on shore power when parked and from the alternator while driving. We've built them into vans and into pickup beds under a topper, with room for a second gurney and a ramp beside it. It's the same work whether the vehicle serves medical transport or a coroner's or medical examiner's office.

Liftgates

For mobility scooters, power chairs being moved empty, and heavy medical equipment, a liftgate can be a better fit than a passenger lift. Ask us which one your use calls for.

Mobility questions we get a lot

Can you convert the vehicle I already own?

Usually, yes. Send us the year, make, model, roof height and wheelbase and we'll tell you what fits. Most of our mobility work goes into vehicles customers already have.

I haven't bought the vehicle yet. Where do I start?

Talk to us before you buy. Roof height, wheelbase and door layout decide which lift, ramp and floor will work, and the right chassis makes the rest of the build easier.

Lift or ramp?

A lift handles heavier power chairs and a higher floor. A ramp costs less, has fewer moving parts, and suits lighter chairs and gurneys. We'll recommend one once we know the rider, the chair and the vehicle.

Can one vehicle carry wheelchairs some days and passengers on others?

That's what track flooring is for. Seats unlock and come out, and wheelchair positions go in the same rails.

Do you work with fleets and agencies?

Yes. We build multiple vehicles to one spec, and we work with dealers and fleet management companies as well as directly with agencies and programs.
