Wheelchair Accessible Shuttle Vans

11 passengers plus 1 wheelchair on a Ford Transit

A high roof, dual rear wheel Ford Transit set up to carry 11 seated passengers and a wheelchair rider, with a BraunAbility lift at the rear doors.

The full spec is below, so you can see exactly what goes into it. The seats lock into a track floor, so the layout can change as your riders do. Every part of it can be adjusted to fit your program.

A BraunAbility Century 2 lift at the rear doors, with a 1,000 lb capacity and a 34" x 54" platform. An Intermotive interlock keeps the van from moving while the lift is in use. Watch it work
Eleven Freedman Go seats with three-point belts, each on a Step-N-Lock base that locks into the floor track, so seats can be moved to change the layout.
L-track mounted along the headliner on both sides, so a shoulder belt can be anchored above the wheelchair position.
Yellow grab bars at the side door's B and C pillars, plus running boards on the driver, passenger and cargo sides for easier steps in and out.
An AbiliTrax floor runs the length of the van, so seats and wheelchair tie-downs lock in where you need them. Four Q'Straint retractors with lap and shoulder belts secure the wheelchair, with a storage bag for them when they're not in use.

Not pictured here: the lift interlock and the running boards. They're in the photos below and on the full spec sheet.

See the Lift in Action

The BraunAbility Century 2 folds up inside the rear doors when it's not in use and unfolds to a 34" x 54" platform that carries up to 1,000 lb. The Intermotive interlock won't let the van shift out of park while the lift is out, and it flags a door left open.
