Part-Time Content Creator – Automotive Upfits & Shop Builds (Freelance/1099)
About Us:
Volition Components is a rapidly growing vehicle upfitting company specializing in custom shelving, van conversions, and accessories for tradespeople and government fleets. Our builds are creative, functional, and always evolving—and we’re ready to start showing them off again.
We’re looking for a freelance content creator (1099 contractor) who can regularly visit our shop in Broomfield to photograph builds in progress, capture finished installs, and develop short-form video content and build highlights we can post across social media platforms.
What You’ll Do:
- Visit the shop 1–2 times per week to capture photos and video content of active and completed van builds.
- Write short articles or captions highlighting the features, custom elements, or unique aspects of each build.
- Produce and edit short-form video clips for Instagram Reels, Facebook, LinkedIn, and other platforms.
- Organize and archive media assets for easy internal access and reuse.
- Collaborate with the shop owners on content themes and posting cadence.
- Occasionally visit customers (if needed) to capture installed vehicles in the field.
What We’re Looking For:
- A self-starter with experience in photography, videography, and basic video editing.
- Excellent storytelling and writing skills for social and blog-style content.
- Familiarity with platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Own equipment (camera, gimbal, lighting, mic, etc.).
- Ability to work on-site in Broomfield, CO at least weekly.
- Experience with trades, vans, or fabrication a big plus—but not required if you can learn quickly.
Position Details:
- Type: Freelance / 1099 Contractor
- Pay: Hourly or per-project basis (DOE)
- Schedule: Flexible—coordinate around shop activity
- Start Date: ASAP
Hourly Rate Range (Freelance/1099):
Entry-level (new grad, hobbyist) $20–$30/hr
Mid-level (some freelance or agency experience) $30–$50/hr
Pro-level (skilled in video + writing + editing) $50–$75/hr+

$100–$250 depending on scope -
Per Project/Post Package (e.g., 10 photos + 1 video + captions):
$150–$400 for bundled content sets
